International Children's Festival

Today we went with Nana and Opa to the International Children's Festival in Hampton. Since Opa is the President of the Executive Board of Bay Days, we often get strongarmed invited to go to various events in Hampton's downtown area. But the International Children's Festival is actually a lot of fun. They have activities, performers and food, etc from all kinds of different countries and they are all grouped by their various areas of the world.

We actually got really lucky today with the weather. We originally thought we were going to have to bail on the festival because of rain. Turns out, the rain starts tomorrow. So we trekked over to Hampton and got our festival-ing on. We enjoyed all of the different musical performers and dancers from all over the world. Got a glitter tattoo that will last 3-4 days, probably 1-2 for the toddler that will be messing with it. We also got our face painted. And since it is nicely dubbed a children's festival, we let Sydney run pretty free. She ran herself silly. It was so much fun to watch her take in all of the different scenary. We also let her get way ahead of us to see just how far she would go without us. Turns out, we still aren't that brave and after about 4 steps we are turning around to look for Mommy. Love it!

Anyone actually surprised the Elmo goes pretty much anywhere with us? Either Elmo or Dora. :)

Lucky 26...

Today was my birthday! Smooth lead in right? It was a very very nice day. Cory took the day off with me which pretty much NEVER happens although I never work on my birthday. Cory took Sydney to daycare in the morning and then brought me breakfast in bed. It was magical. :) So then we did what any parent would do with no child in the house.... we slept. No lie. Wasted the morning away. Then we went for a drive down to the oceanfront just to enjoy the daylight since we had slept off the morning.

Our goal was to pick Sydney up and take her to lunch with us and get her home for a good nap. We had hockey tonight so we wanted her to get a really good nap. Instead, we got to school and she was already napping. Miraculously, we got her out of school, into the car and into the house without waking her up.

Tonight we went for birthday dinner with Papa at Applebee's and the hockey. Admirals won! Last year we had birthday hockey but it didn't go so well. Much better this year. I also subtly hinted that I wanted a birthday message on the video board. When Cory kept talking about how he couldn't find the page on the website to add the messages, I was getting very aggravated. I thought for sure I would not see my name in lights. Luckily, I have a wonderful husband who very forcefully thoughtfully heard my wishes.

All in all it was a great day and it will finish out with a great weekend all around!

Now Pronouncing...

The new Mr. and Mrs. Obrynba!!!

Bridget and Eric got married yesterday and it was one of (if not THE) most touching ceremonies that I have ever seen. And the reception was THE best party that I have ever been to. And Bridget was probably THE most beautiful bride that I have ever seen! So all in all...it was THE most beautiful day overall! I will definitely share more later, but this bridesmaid needs to catch up on all of her recently ignored housewifely duties!!

Congrats Eric and Bridget!! I love you guys! Have fun on your honeymoon in the Dominican Republic!

Easter 2012

Happy Easter Everyone! We hope that you enjoyed this holiday with your closest loved ones. We did! We enjoyed coloring Easter eggs on Saturday. Then on Sunday we had breakfast and easter egg hunting at Nana and Opa's and spent the afternoon watching the Master's with Papa!

Neglect

I have been neglected this here blog. What have we been up to, you may ask?

Well there was Spring Cleaning on St. Patrick's day...

This has actually been completed with the painting all done and everything. Once the real project is finished, I will update with more pictures.

Then there is the whole 25 game win streak that the admirals are on right now...AMAZING. And this girl loves her hockey...

And then there are the impending nuptials of my bestie! The wedding is next Saturday and we are very very very excited. Obviously, the pictures that I have involving this are inappropriate to share at the moment, but I promise to upload more after next weekend!! yay! :)
